I love making hummus in the summer! Its great for dipping, use on a sandwhich or stir into a salad. Its quick and great for parties, just put the hummus in the center of a tray and surround with baby carrots, chopped broccoli and cauliflower, and lowfat whole wheat crackers.
In a food processor or blender mix
1 can of garbanzo beans (drain about half the liquid out)
1 tsp liquid Braggs or soy sauce
Squeeze half a lemon
1-2 clove chopped garlic
A little chopped onion
some shakes of cumin
salt and pepper to taste
And for seasoning add a few or all of these
thyme
basil
rosemary
You can do a lot of variations
spice it up by adding
Cayenne, jalapenos, crushed red pepper
or for other flavors add
cucumber, cilantro, roasted red peppers,
